Ditcheat Junction

Ditcheat Junction is a fictional location in Somerset, based on the Berks & Hants section of the Great Western Route.

Ditcheat Junction is the interchange between the Thoroughbred Line which links Ditcheat Town to Bristol Temple Meads, and
Marehead Quarry.

The station sees regular mainline and branch passenger services, freight services and engineering vehicles. The occasional railtour can also be known to call at the station.

The layout can be controlled by PC using the ESU ECOS controller and iTrain software or by a team of operators.

The track layout is similar to that seen at Castle Cary, with a passenger branch line, and two mainline platforms. The era and location gives us plenty of flexibility of stock to run! We have plenty of different FGW / GWR HSTs and a few IETs as we are based in the crossover era. Plenty of freight rolls through the station and you might even see a railtour or Network Rail inspection train passing through.

The layout is built on laser cut baseboards from the Grange and Hodder range with some adaptations to suit our needs.

The size of the layout end to end is 6m and 2.5m in width with an operating area in the centre.
